1. Who We Are

ForgeBody is operated by ForgeBody Pty Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), based in Australia. Our app is available on iOS via the Apple App Store and our website is forgebody.fit.

By using the ForgeBody app or website, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only what we need to provide you with a great fitness experience:

• Account information — Your email address and name when you sign up (via Apple, Google, or email).
• Fitness data — Workout history, completed sessions, personal bests, body measurements, and progress photos you choose to add.
• Profile & social data — Your display name, avatar, streak, achievements, and any posts, crew membership, or messages you create using ForgeBody's social features.
• Usage data — How you use the app (screens visited, features used) to help us improve the experience.
• Device information — Device type, operating system version, and app version for troubleshooting.
• Payment information — Handled entirely by Apple App Store. We never see or store your card details.
• Notification preferences — Your choices about which notifications to receive and when.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

• Provide and personalise your ForgeBody experience
• Generate your AI training programme based on your goals and level
• Track your progress and personal bests over time
• Power social features — crews, activity feeds, and (where available) messaging
• Send you training reminders and streak alerts (only if you enable them)
• Keep the community safe — reviewing reports and enforcing our Community Standards
• Improve the app based on how people use it
• Respond to support requests and comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. What Other Users Can See

ForgeBody has social features, so some information is visible to other people you connect with:

• Your public profile — display name, avatar, current streak, tier, and earned achievements may be visible to other users, including members of your crew and people who view your profile.
• Crew activity — workouts, runs, and personal records you log can appear in your crew's activity feed, and any messages you send are visible to your crew.
• Progress photos and body measurements are always private by default and are never shown to other users unless you explicitly choose to share them.

You control your participation: you can leave a crew, and you can report or block any user from within the app. Blocking hides that user's content from you and yours from them.

5. AI Features

ForgeBody uses AI (powered by Anthropic's Claude) to generate personalised training programmes and to power the FORGE AI coach. When you use these features, your fitness goals, training level, and questions are sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses. No directly identifying information (such as your name or email) is sent to Anthropic, and Anthropic does not train its models on data sent through its API.

Anthropic's privacy policy applies to data processed by their API. You can review it at anthropic.com/privacy.

6. Progress Photos

Progress photos you take within the app are stored locally on your device and, if you choose, backed up via your account. Photos are never shared publicly or with third parties without your explicit consent. You can delete your photos at any time from within the app.

7. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (hosted on AWS infrastructure in the US and EU). We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (TLS) and at rest. Your password is never stored — we use Apple/Google sign-in or magic link authentication only.

While we take data security seriously, no method of internet transmission is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your email account and keep your device secure.

8. Data Retention & Account Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from within the app, under Settings → Account & Privacy → Delete Account. When you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain records for legal purposes.

9. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access — Request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Correction — Ask us to correct inaccurate data
• Deletion — Ask us to delete your account and data
• Portability — Request your data in a portable format
• Objection — Object to certain types of data processing

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@forgebody.fit and we'll respond within 30 days.

10. Apple Health

If you grant permission, ForgeBody can read from and write to Apple Health. We use this to sync your workout data and activity. Health data is never shared with third parties or used for advertising. You can revoke this permission at any time in your iPhone Settings.

11. Push Notifications

We send push notifications only if you explicitly opt in. Notifications include training reminders, streak alerts, crew activity, and achievement milestones. You can turn off all notifications in the app settings or in your iPhone Settings at any time.

12. Children's Privacy

ForgeBody is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.

13. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase — Database and authentication (privacy policy)
• Anthropic — AI features (privacy policy)
• Apple App Store — App distribution and in-app purchases (privacy policy)
• Unsplash — Stock photos displayed in the app (privacy policy)

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by email or through an in-app notification. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.

Continued use of ForgeBody after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
